Lori treated me at home for a kidney stone which was very difficult to remove, primarily because I have an ostomy pouch. A stent was installed as a method of helping me pass the stone. With the stent in place it was a very tedious job changing my bag every few days. On many occasions she would change the bag only to have to return a few hours later when the bag would leak. Lori showed great professional skills but more important was instrumental in providing me with compassion and sensitivity in helping deal with the frustration this was causing me. She encouraged me by telling me we would get through this. It is because of her caring, understanding and outstanding ability to put her patients at ease that I am nominating her for this prestigious award.
