August 2017 Honoree
lori dehnke, RN
Lori did an excellent job helping a patient's family make a decision regarding terminal extubating. The patient's family had a hard time making the decision and Lori was very honest in her discussions and chose her words carefully which helped the family. I feel that it's always hard to give bad news and easy to raise false hopes. Because of the extraordinary effort of Lori, the patient's suffering and prolonged unnecessary treatment on a ventilator was reduced by a few days. The family was very appreciative.
Thank you, Lori, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
