Lori continually lives out SJRMC’s core values by leading by example in her role as an MRN. She strives for fairness in managing staffing for the entire house all while fielding demands and requests from outside facilities, families, and providers. She shows up with a smile on her face and works diligently in her efforts to make sure that we have the staff we need at the bedside. She is calm and positive. She truly listens to those working on the units and does her absolute best to manage admissions in a fair and appropriate manner. She does the right thing for the patient. She continually collaborates with nurse managers, staff, and providers to ensure the best outcomes. As an MRN, the good ones do not get the recognition they deserve, and I think that their job is not fully understood how demanding and stressful it can be at times. Recently, she was the MRN on shift when the shooting happened in the community. She showed up to the incident command room and was calm and able to help manage and distribute staff to the needed locations in a calm and efficient manner. She was solid in her decision-making and was a vital part of the team that day. This work goes on behind the scenes, and not many get to witness what the MRNs really do. Lori is one of the best, and SJRMC is very lucky to have her and in this role.
