Lori is a staff nurse in our NICU. She performs multiple job duties such as case manager, social worker, family counselor, educator, discharge planner, and data abstractor. Recently she worked with a neonate who had 19 different diagnosis codes at discharge. He had multiple home oxygen pieces of equipment, 9 appointments to coordinate and 6 other referrals. She made an entire notebook with very specific instructions for the parents including a detailed plan of care. Lori worked with the insurance company, several home health agencies and pharmacies to get what this family needed at home. This is the extra mile that Lori delivers with each and every discharge. The family said, "Lori worked tirelessly as an advocate for our child." Our NICU babies and their families are very fortunate to have Lori in their corner!
