Lori Medicinebird, CCRN

Lori Medicinebird has been with our organization for over 20 years. She is known to step up and help in a time of crisis no matter which unit. Recently, many stressors have impacted the nursing community including stress, staffing shortages, and fatigue. The Cardiac Cath Lab is not immune to these stressors. The Cath Lab is a critical care area that requires extensive training. Due to high turnover and length of required training, in the last two years, Lori has remained the only full-time nurse during many parts of the pandemic including being the sole nurse to take emergency call procedures. Lori performed her duties with no hesitation, a positive attitude, and a caring heart at all times. She welcomed new staff including developing a training manual to better assist in learning this specialized area.

Lori is known for doing the job right and always putting the patient first. She is a true advocate for nursing and excellent patient care. Comanche County Memorial Hospital staff and our patients are so fortunate and thankful to have Lori as part of our team.
