Lori immediately made a connection with me and went above and beyond her duties as a nurse to try to comfort and reassure my daughters and me that my husband was in excellent hands.
Lori took care of me last year when I had to be ventilated with pneumonia caused by the seasonal flu. She was incredibly compassionate toward my family and left a huge impression on all of us. Just recently, my husband was admitted with symptoms of COVID. He was intubated soon after his condition worsened. Due to the extreme circumstances surrounding this virus I was left feeling helpless that I could not be by his side. Although the entire ICU staff did an incredible job keeping me informed, one nurse stood above all. Lori Stens. I cannot begin to explain the comfort and relief I felt knowing Lori was taking care of my husband. She immediately made a connection with me and went above and beyond her duties as a nurse to try to comfort and reassure my daughters and me that my husband was in excellent hands. She took the risk to her own well-being to bring comfort to her patient's family by keeping us connected by phone and FaceTime. I couldn't possibly explain the peace this gave my family and me. It's staff members like her that always brings us back to Virtua Memorial Mount Holly. I am happy to report that my husband is now recovering and although our journey was rough, the actions taken by Lori Stens went far above the call of duty. She truly is an angel to us.
