Lori is described as a combination of “Flash” and “Tigger”. She is never in one place for long. She is always on the move making the patient experience the best it can be while supporting her staff.  She is a hands-on leader, and role model for staff and all leadership. She is fair, honest, and a huge facilitator of a just culture and mutual respect. She is always ready to do what she can for our patients and their families with supportive care. She has the utmost respect for all disciplines and will do what she can to support all staff. She checks on our neighboring units, making sure they too are okay.

During her day, she checks on all the families in our units, providing them support, an ear to listen, or a shoulder to cry on. Lori always makes time in her day to follow up with discharge calls and provides staff with the feedback she receives.

Lori holds herself to the same expectations she expects from her staff. She checks in with the staff on off hours, weekends, and holidays …… She truly cares for us.

She provides her staff with motivation to be strong advocates for all patients and colleagues. She encourages her staff to be the best they can be, including taking care of themselves mentally, emotionally, and physically. She encourages team initiatives that build unit rapport and community building. She understands that the best teams are those that function when relationships are built on trust and respect and works tirelessly to encourage those characteristics out of those around her.

Lori is an outstanding nurse leader who deserves every recognition, for her leadership, there is to be had!
