I was admitted to Princess Anne Hospital for surgery. My husband was planning on spending the night with me. He was so concerned about taking care of me, we left the house that morning and forgot his seizure medication. We did not realize this until the evening hours. The nurse who was in the room heard us speaking about this problem, we asked if she thought we could get just one pill from the hospital and she was skeptical but would let her charge nurse know. She discussed it with her charge nurse, Lori, and within 10 minutes she was in our room, letting us know she was going to try to help us. I must say I think my blood pressure went up thinking about my husband having a seizure. When Lori came into the room and she said she would try to help us, I could tell she was genuinely concerned and just her coming in the room and telling us that was such a comfort. Lori called many places and many people to get us the help we needed. With Lori's compassion, I believe she made my stress level go from a 10 to a 0. She could be responsible for preventing an accident from happening if my husband drove back home to get his medication. Lori is an exceptional nurse.
