Lori demonstrated the MH Service Commitment beautifully a few weekends ago! There was a visitor who was partnered with a Refugee family here in Houston, and one of the sons was hospitalized here at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. The family was fearful and didn’t quite understand the medical system in the United States. They spent a few hours with the family during their hospitalization and were able to observe Lori. Lori joyfully took time to use the interpreter, answer ALL their questions, and provide thorough recommendations for follow-up and generalized care to aid in their son’s healing. She also maintained a professional and calm demeanor despite many alarms going off around her. “To be a hospital-based clinician myself and know the stressors of the job, I was amazed and encouraged to see someone who modeled compassion, excellence, and joy while serving the least of these. Lori, thank you for encouraging me to continue to strive for excellence and kindness as I serve my patients. It’s an honor to be with you in the MH family!” Thank you, Lori, for all that you do!
