Lorinda Payne was nominated by Veteran's wife who stated that "no-one could even begin to compare with Lorinda"—explaining that during their hospital stay, Ms. Payne treated her husband as though he was a relative. Ms. Payne was commended for her kindness and compassion as the patient suffered from dementia and was often confused; her attention to his special needs during a time when he needed it most is what makes Ms. Payne a DAISY Nurse worthy of celebration.
