Lorna Challman saw an opportunity to have a positive impact on his education when he comes to the clinic for his daily meds.
R is a student and has had his challenges both personally and academically. As he has struggled in reading, the clinic nurse Lorna Challman saw an opportunity to have a positive impact on his education when he comes to the clinic for his daily meds. She started a word wall for him. Each day she would take a few of the wall words and hide them in the clinic for him to find and work on each day. This is something he truly looks forward to each day! Nurse Challman received a report from his teacher that his phonetics and reading have improved dramatically! On the last day of school, they took down the wall words to put on a keychain so he can take them home to review over the summer!
