Lorraine Allen shows compassion by having empathy for her students and not only wanting them to achieve but also giving them tips on how to do exactly that. And she comforts each student individually to exactly the motivation they need. She shows respect by allowing students with patient experience tell their stories and how they relate to what we are talking about. And she always has something positive to add.

Lorraine Allen is very encouraging and puts the FUN in fundamentals. As someone who has taken this course already at a different college, she brings out the critical thinking in all of us and makes us excited to learn the material, which will be the foundation of the rest of our careers. She motivates us by telling us that her door is always open and she’s always willing to help if we don’t understand something. She also knows how to read the room to know when her students are exhausted and how to make things easier on us. I’ve had a handful of professors in my 7 years of college, and she will be one I will always remember.
