One of our [regular] patients came into the office for blood work, and while he was here, he told Lorri he was homeless. Lorri immediately asked him if he was okay [and] if he needed anything. He asked if he could have some Ensure samples because they help him so much. Lorri went right to the sample closet, loaded him up, and told him he could come back in a week and get more if needed. She then reached out to our RNCM team to see what services we could help with, if any, and made sure she followed up with the patient every step of the way. Lorri went above and beyond to try to get our social worker to come to the office to meet with the patient so we could get him some type of housing help, and we were able to help him. The patient now has a place to stay, and he is grateful for Lorri and all she did to make sure he was off the streets.
