Lou Ann Montgomery, PhD, MAN, RN, NPD-BC, FAAN

Dr. Lou Ann Montgomery is a nationally recognized nursing leader whose 46-year career has shaped the professional development of nurses and transformed patient care. She pioneered research on family support and sibling visitation in critical care, led the development of nationally accredited nurse residency and fellowship programs, and co-founded the University of Iowa Nursing Collaboratory to strengthen academic-practice partnerships. Her visionary leadership has earned her numerous honors, including Fellowship in the American Academy of Nursing and multiple Magnet® exemplars, solidifying her legacy as a transformational force in nursing.
