Lou has been a nurse in the ICU for many years and is very much loved and appreciated by her colleagues. She was nominated by a patient in her unit who just loved her. In her nomination, the patient wrote that Lou was her favorite nurse because of all the great stories she told her; for visiting her when she left the ICU; and most importantly, for treating her as a person, not a patient.
