Louis influences patients every day with his caring demeanor and his love for his job.
Louis has over 14 years of dialysis experience. He is currently employed with DaVita Four Freedoms as a Charge Nurse, but has also worked as an ICU Nurse. This additional work environment has provided Louis with further clinical education to support his expertise in the dialysis field. Louis influences patients every day with his caring demeanor and his love for his job.

On one particular occasion he influenced one specific patient that was actually a transient patient from South Florida. This patient would come to treat frequently at our center and always asked for Louis by name. This patient was a huge fluid gainer and had chronic cardiac issues that needed the best judgement and expertise, and he trusted Louis in having both of these qualities to be able to best care for him. Louis guided, supported, and cared for this transient patient through intelligence, compassion, and his solid character. This convinced this patient to relocate to our area to become a permanent patient at our facility. Unfortunately, this patient returned to South Florida for a while to get everything together to move to our area and contracted Covid-19 and was hospitalized resulting in the passing of this patient. The patient’s sister sent a card soon after the passing of her brother to say, “Thank you for making my brother happy during his last few months on earth. On several occasions, he told me how kind your facility, especially Louis was to him and how he really seemed to care about him. Thank you for all you did for him!” This card exemplifies that Louis has dedicated his Head, Heart and Hands to pursue the Mission and live the DaVita way. He cares for transient patients with the same intensity as our permanent patients which assists in patient morale and patient satisfaction while increasing the outcomes and census within our facility.

He is also always front and center when there is a need in the clinic. He is the first to sign up and assist in organizing weather-related rescheduling of treatments for patients. Not only does he make a point to help organize these reschedules, but he is also usually the first one in the door to make sure all the patients get their treatments. In any day-to-day procedure or emergency, Louis is the guy that you want around. He is calm, clinically in charge, loyal, and just an overall great guy. Our facility, patients, teammates, and community are truly blessed to have him in our life.
