July 2023 Honoree
Louise Erdman, RN, BSN
My nurse was Louise. she is so kind and always comforted me when I was scared. She took time to answer all my questions [I had a lot of questions]. She taught me about the power of positivity. She encouraged me to go to the garden and playroom, and that helped a lot. But she also told me it was okay to be scared or frustrated and it was okay to cry. She brought me everything I needed like lots of water and gloves to take a shower, and she was always checking in with the doctors to make sure I was getting what I needed so I would know what was going on. She called "A" to come visit me when I was feeling sad, and she brought me art. She also had the chaplain come to my room and I got to go to mass and get the anointing of the sick. Louise felt like a friend, and she made a hard time easier. I’m thankful for everything she did for me.
Thank you, Louise, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
