We would like to recognize Louise Fauser for her outstanding care during my husband's recent hospital stay. He had been ill for several months with extremely low hemoglobin. We had been working with his primary care physician as well as the transplant department at UTMC (he is a kidney transplant patient). Despite several blood transfusions and weekly injections, the hemoglobin continued to drop, and his health was worsening. The transplant department recommended that we take him to the emergency department for evaluation, after spending the night in the ER, he was admitted the next morning. This is when he met Louise, her kindness and professionalism were immediately noticed, and he quickly began to see what a caring and kind person she was. She patiently answered all his questions and explained all the procedures and treatments he was receiving. Louise was his nurse for the first three days of his stay working the 7am-7pm shift, she was always available when he called and provided extraordinary care showing skilled care in not only nursing but in caring for sick patients. Her experience and knowledge were greatly appreciated by both my husband and myself. My husband has been hospitalized numerous times over the years and has had a lot of experience with many nurses, and he said that Louise was the best nurse he ever had. Please recognize and thank Louise for her outstanding service, she is a great asset to the profession and your hospital.
