Lourdes James, MSN, FNP-C

Mrs. James is the teacher every student should have at least once in their college career. She is a fantastic explainer and is not afraid to push you to do what she knows you are capable of. She always cheers everyone on and is very involved with students' performances. As a clinical instructor, she is very hands-on and really makes you understand what you are doing in real time. 

Ms. James has been the most encouraging, supportive, and challenging instructor I’ve had yet. She pushes you to excel both in the clinical and classroom setting, while also maintaining a dialogue of insightful and calm conversation, which is oftentimes humorous. This past semester, she helped me build the confidence I needed to be on the clinical floor. The first day of orientation, she looked me dead in the eye and asked, “Are you scared?” I wasn’t sure how she could tell, but I said yes, because I was downright terrified of going into an intensive clinical semester. Now, if she asked me Am I scared, I’d look her dead in the eye and say, “I don’t even know what that means anymore…thanks to you, Ms. James.”
