I have worked with Lovely for many years now and am continuously impressed with her consistent level of collegiality. As an example, Lovely is often called upon to assist with a difficult IV insertion. She is unfailingly happy to help, interrupting her own busy schedule to support a colleague. She always comes into the room with a smile on her face and makes what potentially could be an unpleasant situation for a patient into a pleasant one. I never hesitate to introduce Lovely to a patient of Haitian descent, knowing that not only will she make an instant connection with them, but also their interaction will add an extra dose of comfort to the patient and their family.
Lovely's amiability shines through. She will most likely talk with them in their native language, which always serves to put everyone at a higher level of ease especially in the treatment of cancer. It always brings a smile to my face to watch Lovely interact with any patient and their family. Lovely adds harmony to a very busy, complex and sometimes very stressful workplace and I appreciate her a lot.
