Luanne is a long-time adjunct faculty at UMHB. She has served in teaching in the classroom and clinical settings. Luanne was nominated by several students based on her Christian principles, being a role model, and exemplifying our Cru Nursing Core Values. Below are a few quotes from her nominators:

"Luanne Gantt has impacted my life more than she will ever know. She is kind and courteous to her students and takes the time to ensure that we fully understand the content. She is so encouraging and truly cares about her students both in and out of the classroom. She takes the time at clinicals to walk us through any hard concepts or even hard days to make sure that we walk out of the hospital knowing we did all we could for our patients. We are blessed with an amazing faculty. Mrs. Gantt truly deserves this award and everything it stands for."

"Mrs. Gantt serves as a role model for me, specifically because she is one of the most caring instructors I’ve ever had. She goes above and beyond for each of us. She offers up her time to meet you if needed and always offers up her contact information if we even have the stupidest question."

"Mrs. Gantt sets the standard of Cru nursing core values. She genuinely respects each and every one of her students because she herself remembers what it was like to be a student, something that is lost on most nurses. She cares deeply for us in our academics as well as our personal lives. She never leaves a clinical before knowing that each of us is okay mentally and physically. Mrs. Gantt makes the time to answer questions or clear up any hard information. Mrs. Gantt goes above and beyond for her students every single day."

Thank you, Luanne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
