Lucien is an exceptional ICU nurse who always goes above and beyond when providing care for patients as well as assisting the team.
Lucien is an experienced ICU nurse who always demonstrates a compassionate, caring, positive attitude toward patients, family, colleagues, and all health care disciplinary team. All his patients and family commended him for his compassionate care. Everyone loves to work with him because of his positive attitude, good communication skill, and willingness to help others.
When Lucien is on schedule, his energy and enthusiasm generate the best positive work environment. Our ICU team is comfortable when he is on the unit since he has exceptional critical thinking skills. When a patient's condition deteriorates, Lucien is always there to assist his colleagues to address patient's issues. When a new patient arrives on the unit, Lucien is always there to assist the team to get the patient settled. Lucien not only provides best care to his patients he also provides compassionate care to all patients on the unit.
Lucien saw me walking into my patient's room with a stack of fresh linen. With a concerning voice, Lucien asked me what I was doing. I let him know that my patient had a bowel movement and I needed to clean her. I did not want to bother Lucien and ask him to help me since it was at the end of the shift and he was getting ready to get off work. However, he took initiative and walked into my patient's room and offered his assistance. He stated that it would be faster to get the job done if he helped me to clean the patient. Even though it was my patient, Lucien took charge in cleaning her as his own. Although it was time for him to get off, he took his time to clean the patient very well. Cleaning this patient was very challenging. Patient was obese, bed bound, and total care. She had a large, loose bowel movement. Lucien made sure that we cleaned the patient very well with soap, warm water, etc. to prevent patient from getting a UTI.
The situation I described is one of many that Lucien does for patients and his team on a daily basis.
