Six north received an overflow patient from L&D; the patient's neonate died after a pre-term delivery. This was a situation that no one on 6N had ever dealt with, but Ms. Sherwood was amazing in the way she communicated with our staff and with the patient. She provided the resources necessary for our staff to feel comfortable providing care for this patient; she was also able to answer all the patient's questions and comfort them during the hardest time of their lives. She was incredibly compassionate and acted as a liaison between the physicians, social workers, nurses, and the patient, and truly made this process easier for everyone involved. 6N cannot thank her enough for her professionalism and patient dedication.
