Lucy Walsh's nomination came from another nurse who values what Lucy brings to both her patients and the other staff around her. The nominating nurse, Rebecca Clement, wrote:

I have never met a person more empathetic than Lucy Walsh. The care she takes of her patients extends to their families as well. I have seen her give drivers money to pay for parking, go buy lunch from the coffee shop for patients waiting on their dinner to arrive, buy lunch for other staff who have not had time to eat, and shower the Christmas family for the department with gifts. She sends everyone away with the words "God Bless You", and she means it. She can do an amazing amount of work and do it all thoroughly and timely, and will still ask how she can help the other nurses. She exudes compassion and love to all she meets.
