It's impossible to summarize in a few words what kind of nurse Luke is.
I was exceedingly satisfied with your professionalism and commitment to excellent nursing care. From the moment I became your patient you made me feel comfortable in a place where it is very possible to feel alone, small, and scared. With my case being complex and filled with complications, you were interested in learning about me to better treat me. Being gentle changing my dressings and flushing my "pigtails" and nephrostomy tubes, frequently checking on me and tending to my needs with your carefulness. Answering all my questions knowledgeably, or you would ask a doctor and quickly return with information. You made my time with you fun, I laughed, joked, and looked forward to you coming into my room to brighten it with your great personality. You explained treatment and medical terms so that I could better understand. I was assured I was in safe, gentle, caring hands and just recovering from major surgery. With a lot of complications becoming septic and needing blood transfusions and nearly a year of being in and out of the hospitals I had never encountered someone so committed, so professional, so caring and memorable as you!
