A possible stroke alert presented to the Emergency Department. Although we were told the patient knew English, he seemed confused. We were advised his primary language, or first language was Romanian. Lulia had just clocked out, but put down her bags, without hesitation, and stepped in to assist because Romanian is her first language as well. She was able to help quickly and efficiently assess the situation and calm the patient, which allowed us to better care for him. She followed up with him throughout his stay. She kept him from walking out or ending up in restraints by providing him with consistent care and compassion. She is an amazing nurse, educator, and preceptor.
