Lupi was more than a nurse for my father during the time he was at WKBH - she was more like an angel! Lupi was asked to fill in on the med-surg floor. Even though she was just filling in on the floor - she treated my dad as if it were her own father! My father had a folie removed about 8 hours before, and as of yet been unable to urinate. I was so scared and worried. Nurse Lupi came into the room, and with her gentle caring manner began to put me and my father at ease. She began explaining how the organs of the body work, and she got some warm towels to put on his stomach, and began to massage my father’s stomach. All the while explaining to me why she was doing certain things. As she was talking, my father began to urinate. It was like a miracle! I cannot remember the exact words that Lupi used, but she made us feel so assured, and taken care of. It really made such a difference to my dad, that not only were her nursing skills excellent, but she took the time to explain what she was doing. Her caring and compassion is a gift to WKBH and to the Patients that are under her care. She is a very special person who brings joy and hope into her job. Truly there are not enough words to explain what a great gift this nurse is! Thank God for Lupi!
