Lydia is an above and beyond kind of gal. I have been a nurse for a very long time, I can see a specially gifted nurse easily. Lydia has been doing My Sanford nurse phone nursing for 20 years. She has a calmness and sweat demeanor that always is the same for every call. Even if it's a difficult, rude, or persistent patient. She always seems to put the patient at ease and is a consummate professional to all patients no matter their age, culture, or intelligence. I have listened keenly to how she reassures the patient. She never makes them feel they are asking a dumb question. She keeps her composure, professionalism, and is respectful no matter what they are asking her. She is very thorough, knowledgeable, and can easily move the conversation along with the hundreds of variable algorithms. She handles emergent situations with ease and doesn't ever make the patient with a minor concern feel any less important. I have observed her when there are very stressful times. I have never seen or heard her frustrated or even stressed. She picks up shifts for others when the weather is horrible. Lydia is just a super nurse and team player.
