Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness are the most heroic when it comes to patient care.
Lydia enhanced the patient's experience by taking time and listening to her when she needed to talk. "I didn't know what each day in the hospital would bring, but when I saw Lydia's face in the morning, I knew I was in good hands," says the patient. "She is the essence of kindness and caring, and that makes her an amazing nurse."
"I was surprised, and I feel so honored," says Lydia. "I took care of the patient in the same way I care for all my patients. However, she was one of my favorite patients."
Lydia attributes her award to having a great team of nurses to work with. "Everyone works together and agrees on what's right for the patient," says Lydia.
