Our Mother-Baby Unit had a mother-to-be come in and unexpectedly delivered not one, but two babies. The patient had one car seat without a breastplate and with straps pinned together. The charge nurse called Lydia that Saturday morning asking if there were any car seats available in the hospital. The unit did not have any, so Lydia purchased two car seats for the couple and brought them in. When they offered to pay her, she graciously refused and gifted them. This is how Lydia often goes the extra mile for our patients.
