I was an inpatient, suffering from internal bleeding and other gastric issues.

Lydia was very “tuned in” to the problems that I was having and did everything she could to help relieve my pain and discomfort. If it was not time for another dose of pain medication, she would make suggestions on how I could be more comfortable.

She checked in on me very often, offering any help that she could provide.

Before leaving her shift, she always came by to tell me she was leaving for the day and whether she would be back the following day or not. She reported that she told the oncoming nurse detailed information about my condition, including what was working and what was not related to my care.

During my stay, we discovered that we have the same beliefs of faith, and on the day that I was discharged, she asked me if she could pray with me. This showed me that she believed in a holistic form of nursing. This was evident in the ways Lydia tended to not only my physical condition, but also my emotional and spiritual condition as well.

Unfortunately, I have had to be in the hospital several times, and with no hesitation, Lydia is the best nurse I have ever had.
