I would like to nominate Lynda for a DAISY Award for the exceptional care she provided me. Lynda was my nurse eight weeks ago on the day I had gallbladder surgery. Honestly, I do not remember much about that day itself, which probably says something about how nervous I was for surgery and how out of it I was afterward, but what I do remember very clearly is how kind and caring she was. I remember feeling cared for and safe, and that stayed with me.

Recently, I unexpectedly found myself back in the hospital again. It has been a rough year health-wise, and being back there was not where I wanted to be. When I found out Lynda was my nurse again, I was genuinely relieved and happy because I remembered my first experience with her.

Lynda is exceptional because she is steady. She does everything with kindness, compassion, and care. She is thorough and by the book, and she pays attention to the details that matter. She is gentle in the way she approaches patients, but she also makes you feel like a normal person. She talked to me like a human being and not just a patient in a room. On a day when I had almost no sleep and had no idea what was happening to me, that mattered a lot.

During my stay, she made sure I had everything I needed, including helping me get paperwork for my doctor since I work out of town and see my primary care provider where I work. She made a difficult situation better simply by being exactly who she is. Sometimes exceptional care isn't about grand gestures; it is about consistently showing up with compassion, competence, and genuine care for others. That is Lynda. I am so thankful to have had her care twice when I needed it.

Thank you, Lynda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
