A patient came to theatre for a procedure under sedation. In the middle of the ongoing procedure, the patient struggled and asked not to continue/abandon the procedure. Lynda stood up for the patient and with respect, she asked the team to consider and listen to the patient’s wishes. She then stayed and comforted the patient until they went back to the ward. Lynda stands firm and takes by heart the duty of an advocate and voice of the patients. She makes sure patients are well supported during their peri-operative journey by providing safe and efficient care guided by evidence-based practice. She performs to her maximum potential keeping in mind the values and standards of the organisation and the safety of the patient above all.
