After Lynda had worked many shifts in a row she offered to drive an elderly patient home. The patient had family, however, the patient's family couldn't bring him home and weren't in town. Instead of him staying another night (and having to pay) she offered to bring him home. She stayed late, went over the discharge instructions with him and his assigned nurse. She then drove him home and then settled him into his house. She even checked on him the next morning and called his family and explained everything over the phone. She went above and beyond and I know the patient was so thankful to go home. He had discharge orders early in the morning and was so thankful he didn't have to stay another night.
