Lynda had a patient who was celebrating a special wedding anniversary. The patient’s spouse had drawn a heart on the paper gown that the patient was wearing prior to surgery and shared with Lynda that today was a special day. After the surgery, Lynda cut the paper heart out of the gown and placed it in a plastic bag for safekeeping since the patient now had on a cloth gown. She then gave the heart back to the patient’s wife knowing what an important day it was for them.
