Lynde did not have to be there but the drive inside of her couldn’t keep her away.
Lynde is who WE are with every fiber of her being. This nurse is a team player and will pitch in wherever a need may be. She will stand out in 100-degree weather with a patient who had an outpatient procedure and didn’t have a ride home, and solve the problem with a phone call to Uber and pay the expense. She uplifts those around her with words of encouragement and love. She makes a lasting impression on those she thoughtfully and skillfully cares for.
On Monday, a Code Emory House was called for a patient in distress in the Cath Lab. The patient was in the right place at the right time, Lynde was determined to help. Compressions were done for 26 minutes and the amazing team got the patient back and transferred him to CVICU. Praise the Lord! Lynde did not have to be there but the drive inside of her couldn’t keep her away. Shortly after the code, family was contacted and the wife of the patient was at home without a ride to the hospital to be with her ill husband. This nurse knew she had to do whatever she could to get the patient’s wife here.
First thought was to go pick her up herself. Being a rule follower she wanted to do things “the right way”. She arranged for a Lyft but thankfully the wife was able to find a ride and was able to see her husband. This nurse sat with the wife well after her shift as the family member did not want her to leave her side. The wife felt the warmth and kindness this nurse exudes day in and day out for our patients, their families, and her Methodist family. She is indeed an angel on earth that will give the shirt off her back, and will literally break her shoes trying to save a life.
