She models the kind of presence and attentiveness that defines nursing excellence.
I am honored to nominate Lyndsey for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. She exemplifies what it means to be a transformational nurse leader through her unwavering commitment to patient advocacy, staff support, and positive change throughout our hospital. Lyndsey consistently goes above and beyond the traditional role of a manager. While she carries the responsibilities of leadership with professionalism and grace, she never distances herself from bedside care. She is always willing to step onto the floor, assist with patient care, answer call lights, help during high-acuity situations, and support staff in real time. She doesn’t just lead from an office — she leads alongside us.
Her dedication to patient advocacy is evident daily. Lyndsey makes it a point to introduce herself to patients and families, ensuring they know they are supported not only by their nurse but also by the unit's leadership. She listens attentively to concerns, addresses issues proactively, and works tirelessly to ensure every patient receives safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. She models the kind of presence and attentiveness that defines nursing excellence. Beyond patient care, Lyndsey is deeply committed to the growth and well-being of her nursing staff. She continually seeks ways to improve our work environment and advocates for the tools, resources, and education we need to provide exceptional care. She encourages professional development, supports clinical ladder advancement, and celebrates her team's accomplishments. Her leadership fosters confidence, teamwork, and accountability.
What sets Lyndsey apart is her ability to create positive, lasting change not just in our unit, but across the hospital. She collaborates with other departments, brings forward innovative ideas, and ensures that improvements are thoughtful and sustainable. Her voice carries influence because it is rooted in integrity, clinical expertise, and genuine care for both patients and staff. Most importantly, Lyndsey leads with heart. She is approachable, supportive, and present. She listens without judgment, advocates fiercely, and always strives to do what is right. She embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award by inspiring others, elevating nursing practice, and ensuring that compassionate care remains at the center of everything we do.
Our unit is stronger because of her leadership, and our patients are safer because of her advocacy. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award than Lyndsey.
