Lyndsey was our nurse for the deliveries of all 3 of our children. Accordingly, she has been with us for the absolute best and absolute worst moments of our lives.
Our first daughter passed away in utero at 20 weeks gestation. Walking into the labor and delivery room knowing that we would be saying hello and goodbye to our daughter on the same day was devastating. Losing a child is something a parent could never imagine nor want to endure. We didn't want to be there; we were heartbroken and numb. However, Lyndsey greeted us with such warmth and kindness. She explained every step of the birthing process as we had yet to attend a birthing class. She made sure that we were comfortable and brought warm blankets to my husband (which he so appreciated). She acknowledged our grief and let us know that it was okay to feel the way we were feeling.
Although we were in the hospital for the unimaginable, Lyndsey was able to put us at ease and ensure that we received the best care possible. We have since requested her as our delivery nurse for the births of our other two daughters. With both deliveries, she stayed past her shift so that she could be present for the birth.
Lyndsey has a young family of her own whom she adores; knowing that she unselfishly gave her time during our deliveries when she could have been at home with her family means the world to us. We are so thankful for the care we have received and will be forever grateful for all that Lyndsey has done for our family. The meaning of care: Methodist's motto and something Lyndsey so proudly exemplifies.
