January 2016 Honoree
lyndsey nichols, RN
A post-Op CT surgery patient did not have his wedding band at transfer to 5 RT. His wife had recently passed away so the ring was very important to him. No documentation was in the chart regarding his valuables. Lyndsey spent hours on the phone talking to multiple people and located his valuables in the drawer of his previous bedside table in the ICU. He was so thankful that he was tearful. He said it was the last symbol of "us" that he had left. Lyndsey definitely went above and beyond for this patient. The patient's wife had been a nurse for years but Lyndsey did not know that.
Thank you, Lyndsey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
