Lyndsey took exceptional care of this patient. Not only addressing her physical needs but as well as the patient’s psycho-social.
On one occasion, Lyndsey took an admission admitted for vaginal bleeding. This was the patient’s 2nd fetal loss. Lyndsey took exceptional care of this patient. Not only addressing her physical needs but as well as the patient’s psycho-social. Lyndsey is a fairly new nurse. She is coming off of an absence from nursing, following the unexpected loss of a loved one from COVID. The patient required continual monitoring and fluid resuscitation. Lyndsey spent most of the day at this patient’s bedside talking and comforting this patient throughout the day as well as meeting her physical needs. At the end of the shift, Lyndsey transferred the patient to the floor. I know without a doubt that this patient appreciated Lyndsey.
I feel Lyndsey’s compassion for this patient makes her a DAISY Nurse. Compassion is not something you learn in nursing school. Most of the time it is learned from life lessons. Difficult lessons. Thank you!
