Lyndsey Schmit 2, RN

My father was unfortunately hospitalized for the second time in a week. He was brought in by ambulance and did not bring his house keys with him. His brother recently passed away, and I believe that he's been having TIAs and syncope related to the stress from that. My father also has some mild cognitive issues. Unfortunately, I'm currently out of the country on a cruise, and the only available support person for my father is my cousin, who has an intellectual disability. My cousin can drive, but he has a lot of trouble understanding instructions. This led to a lot of back and forth, but Lyndsey took it all in stride. I feel that she went above and beyond, she managed my father's phone, calling people like his own personal secretary, and kept me up to date on what was going on. When my cousin arrived to pick up my father, he got lost. Lyndsey took my father's phone and went out to personally look for him and escorted him back to the room. I'm very impressed that she truly went above and beyond in caring for my father and indirectly caring for my cousin as well. I'm a nurse myself, and I've been working in the field for about 15 years now, and I can tell when a nurse is a real nurse and when they're just showing up for a paycheck. Lyndsey is most definitely a real one.
