Lynette talked me through every single thing she did and explained every little detail in a language that was completely understandable.
My mother came into the ED on a Friday with abdominal pain. Not thinking that this was anything serious, I waited to show up because I was out of town. They moved her to a floor and admitted her. All of a sudden, my brother called me, telling me she had to have surgery, and it was very critical, and I needed to come home. I was an absolute wreck. I hurried home and finally made it to the hospital to see my mom. She went from a totally normal, healthy mom and grandma to being on a ventilator and sedated.

Lynette was a God-send. She was so kind and sweet to my mama, who was completely sedated. She could have just treated her like an unconscious patient and did her thing, but she treated her as if she were awake and fully coherent. Her treating my mama like that absolutely warmed my heart and gave me just the comfort I needed. Lynette talked me through every single thing she did and explained every little detail in a language that was completely understandable. Her sympathy, empathy, attentiveness, kindness, and education comforted me beyond words. I will forever remember her and make sure my mother does too. The whole ICU day shift team has been phenomenal, but Lynette's excellence has been extraordinary in my experience. Lynette from the bottom of my heart, Thank You for everything, keep that spark. You are an absolute example of what nursing excellence is.
