January 2022 Honoree
Lynette M Barnes, BSN, RN
I am a frequent patient at Medical City Heart Hospital and have been lucky to have Lynette several times to help with getting me ready for procedures. What I appreciate most is her calm demeanor and sense of humor. I also appreciate that Lynette communicates with me in a manner consistent with my knowledge and experience.
Since I have had cardiac issues my entire life I have had many procedures and surgeries so I am not new to this scenario. Lynette explains just what I need to know and doesn’t walk me through “cardio 101” but just cuts to the chase. Lynette also talks to me as a friend and shows great care and concern without alarming me. It is nice to be distracted from the seriousness of my life-threatening condition by small talk and just a wee bit of gossip! Ha!
Lynette has the balance of expertise experience and enthusiasm that is often lacking in any field, especially in cardiac medicine where the outcome isn’t always what is hoped for. Thanks for making the work environment positive so I can have good nurses like Lynette!
