Lynn Butler, RN

When a pediatric patient is newly diagnosed with cancer, Lynn is one of the first people to form a relationship with them. She has been working in this care area for so long that she is an incredible wealth of knowledge and compassion, and quickly becomes an integral part of the everyday lives of the patients and families she works with; they often comment how "she is like family". Lynn always goes out of her way to get to know her families and make them feel like partners in their care. This approach of warmth and familiarity puts parents and patients at ease as they navigate "new normal" for the duration of therapy. Many times she can be found staying late to make one more phone call or coming in outside of typical hours to "check-in" on her patients and families. Not only is she a critical element to families, but she is also a critical element to the team of caregivers. She is passionate about advocating for what is best and safest for patients and families and she shared her expertise and knowledge with new nurses. She is truly most deserving to be recognized for her passion, her dedication, and her nursing care delivery which is beyond measure.
