Lynn has been an outstanding RN and employee since she began working at Good Samaritan as a PCA in 2004. Not only does she get recognized by patients and families that she cares for, through leader rounding, patient call-backs and HCAHPS surveys, but she has also been Employee of the Month due to patient and co-worker compliments. Her caring and thoughtful demeanor and nursing excellence ensure that she goes above and beyond to train the next generation of Good Samaritan nurses.

Lynn is one of the nursing unit's coaches, precepting our new graduate nurses, as well as new hires. She is extremely patient and caring throughout the orientation process, teaching the skills needed to be successful, while role modeling our Behaviors of Excellence. She has been noted by new graduates as being the type of nurse they strive to become.

Our nursing unit recently hired a fairly new nurse for our night shift that was transferring in from another facility. She had minimal experience with patients that were as acutely ill as the patients that we care for on the unit. Orientation for this particular nurse was very challenging. Lynn reorganized her way of teaching so that it was tailored more towards the specialized needs of this individual. And, although difficult to do, Lynn pushed herself to provide this nurse with the crucial feedback that she needed to hear. Lynn pushed this individual to raise the bar on her nursing care and critical thinking skills. She challenged her thinking with scenarios on a daily basis. Lynn was always very patient. The nurse was grateful and thanked Lynn for the extra time she had spent. Lynn exemplifies nursing excellence. Her caring attitude for everone makes her a role model for all nurses.
