Lynn McGillin is a clinical professional who genuinely advocates for the best interest of our clients, her peers, and her community. From a Cerner perspective, Lynn understands the core objectives that our clients are trying to accomplish and works diligently to help them tackle their obstacles with our technology. She strives to make it personal, ensuring that they know we truly care about aiding them to achieve their business objectives. She succeeds in this by individualizing conversations and meetings with them on a frequent informal 1:1 basis as need be.
Lynn understands the importance of maintaining the camaraderie among the nursing associates at Cerner. She consistently reaches out to her fellow nurses to ensure they are educated on the latest trends in Nursing Informatics and personally mentors nurses across our organization regarding personal and professional growth across the industry, and why they are so important in what we do. She goes out of her way to organize nursing-specific gatherings and meetings to promote solidarity among the RN's in the HS org.
Lynn demonstrates her passion for Cerner by stepping up and getting in front of trends and issues that arise in the industry. She was recognized this year for achieving a successful patent for Cerner by submitting a computer-readable media that can provide camera normalization.
Additionally, when the COVID-19 pandemic came about, Lynn stepped up and worked diligently with our clients and peers to figure out what we could do with Soarian to help detect, report, and maintain patient safety measures.
In her community, Lynn is a recognized Nurse Practitioner who has cared for patients with Spinal Cord Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury. She is a Member of the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports whose mission is to provide both recreational as well as competitive level sports opportunities for individuals with disabilities. When the weather breaks in Philly, you will find Lynn dedicating her personal time on a weekly basis to the Philadelphia Adaptive Rowing (PAR) organization. The program operates from a humble re-purposed boathouse on West River Drive / Boat House Row in Philadelphia. It provides folks with disabilities the opportunity to go sculling on the Schuylkill River.
Lynn works hard to engage energetic volunteers to help her coach and row with program participants. She also will coordinate events across the counties that continue to keep this program as well as adaptive cycling programs going across the Southeastern PA region!
As you can see, Lynn is an exceptional nursing role model who goes out of her way to show others how to give back and help our work life and communities thrive.? She recently was selected as a team lead for the Cerner Disabilities Foundational group as well which will be of great value to Cerner.
