This nomination is from a family member of a patient cared for by Lynn Salvidas in CCU. It demonstrates Lynn's commitment to caring for the patient and family when a cure is not possible. She demonstrates an exemplary understanding of what patients and families need during the most difficult time. Please note that the family member that sent the email was a nurse who comments on the behavior that Lynn demonstrated being different than what many would demonstrate in a similar situation. She wrote:

My grandfather was admitted to your critical care unit and Lynn was his nurse until my grandfather died. She was absolutely amazing. As a nurse myself, I can tell you not all nurses would have handled my very large family as well as she did. She answered all our questions and took terrific care of my grandfather. She was compassionate, empathetic, caring, and gentle, everything you want for a nurse. She truly went above and beyond.
