I've cried on Lynn's shoulders countless times and she quietly listened and showed empathy, sympathy warmth, and integrity.
Lynn and I have history of being more than nurse and patient. I've known Lynn for quite some time, several years in fact. I was an admitted patient to the Step Down Unit as a diabetic patient who needed the Glucommander! Glucommander? What the heck is the Glucommander? It sounds frightening and scary! Does it hurt? Yikes!! Help!!! So as I'm being wheeled in my bed to my room, I saw this amazingly pretty lady. She looked like one of those gorgeous models that you see on a calendar that you see hanging in a Chinese Restaurant. I knew that she appeared to be a nurse because of her uniform and she says no worries about the Glucommander and I'll happily answer any questions you may have and we'll tackle this matter. This nurse is amazing! All my fears and trepidations dissipated. And that was a moment when I felt trust for this nurse who exuded kindness, compassion, warmth, and sincerity.

She was so pretty which shouldn't factor in, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Lynn had the entire package inside out! I have a chronic illness that keeps me coming and going like a revolving door. Lynn is truly a DAISY Nurse. Okay, let's list what a DAISY Honoree should have: (1) models empathy and demonstrates a caring attitude in all situations ✔ (2) establishes a genuine connection with families ✔ (3) demonstrates extra clinical skills in the delivery of passionate and compassionate patient care ✔. Lynn has exceptional leadership skills and that is why she's a charge nurse. Lynn also has awesome listening skills. In my multiple in's and out's revolving door status over the years from 2015 to the present, I've cried on Lynn's shoulders countless times and she quietly listened and showed empathy, sympathy warmth, and integrity.

Lynn is so much more than a nurse and has now become my friend. She calls me Mrs. B and always tends to my Glucommander needs! I know that there are countless ways to say that Lynn's nursing skill is a testament to a nurse's dedication and a powerful reminder that THIS patient notices how she goes above and beyond the call of duty of patient care. There are not enough words I can put on paper, but what I feel in my heart for Lynn is love, respect for a woman/nurse who puts her patients' needs before her own. I believe that God has a plan and purpose for all of us and with me being sick and Lynn being a healer is our destinies.
