October 2015 Honoree
lynne omara, CPN
I have leukemia and my extremely low hemoglobin levels leave me unable to do many everyday things for myself. For example, I can't wash my own hair because I fatigue so quickly; so Nurse Lynne turns my hospital room into a salon and washes it for me. One day, she said she would wash my hair, but then there was an emergency with another patient and she didn't have time to do it. To my surprise, she showed up the next day, ON HER DAY OFF (and she lives 45-60 minutes away) just to wash my hair. I told her she didn't have to do that and she said she wanted to because she knows it makes me feel better. This is just one of many examples of how Lynne does anything and everything for her patients. She treats me like I was her own daughter. Nurse Lynne has become part of my family. I love her very much and she loves me. I can't imagine a better nurse than my nurse, Lynne.
Thank you, Lynne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
