Being a team player and showing up for not only the patients but also your teammates, is something that we value highly on our unit. Lynne does this with ease, providing support for her teammates and all the while providing compassionate care for the patients, looking into their needs as a whole person, and advocating when we can do something better with our care. Lynne will take the time to learn the home situation, baseline needs, and how we can best accommodate the patient and their family when they leave the hospital. I can think of many occasions when Lynne has taken the extra time to call the patient or their family after they have discharged to assure they had a smooth transition out of the hospital. One particular time we had a cancer patient who had brought in home medication to use while they were in the hospital. This medication required refrigeration and somewhere in their transition from ICU to the Med/Surg unit the medication did not make into the refrigerator. Lynne worked with the patient, his pharmacy, risk management, and leadership to assure that this situation was made right for the patient. Lynne has become a mentor and informal leader on our unit just by showing up and being herself. She is truly a dedicated and insightful caregiver.

Thank you, Lynne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
